Against this background, the Delegation of the
European Union to Canada organizes its sixth Security and Defence Symposium

the event

The 6th Security & Defence Symposium will address the emerging defence challenges on both sides of the Atlantic and examine how the EU and Canada can work more closely together.

This enlightening and interactive event will bring together decision-makers and experts to exchange knowledge and perspectives on pressing issues related to Canada-EU security.

This year’s symposium will focus on the recent developments in the EU Security and Defence Policy following the 2019 European elections, and how EU-Canada security cooperation can benefit from them, how the EU and Canada can work closely to combat hybrid and cyber threats, why the Arctic is a increasing joint security concern to Europeans and Canadians, and what the EU and Canada should make of the advance of artificial intelligence and automation in the defence sector.

The Symposium is the place to learn more about EU-Canada defence cooperation, ask questions to key individuals, officials and experts, and offer views on how Canada and the EU can meet their commitments to peace and security.
